Recruiting success is made up of two key identities: Recruiting for the preferred client and marketing the candidate. Our top priority is filling open positions for our preferred clients. This includes various recruiting methods; searching our internal database, referrals, cold recruiting out of direct competitors, and advertisement in various networks and databases. Marketing the candidate is a secondary avenue for success.

Today’s world is all about the internet. I have a list of fifty job sites that candidates can link on and review what’s out there. Direct submittal is an option, however it’s not definite that credentials will even be reviewed. Companies receive thousands of resumes for their posted positions and it’s very difficult to view everything that comes through the system. Again, I want to make it clear that it’s an option.

When you are working directly with a recruiter you have a representative. My candidates will view job sites and call me to represent them to companies of interest. In this manner my consultants/recruiters will go directly to the hiring authority to submit your resume. Your resume will be reviewed. That’s not a guarantee of obtaining the position, but it’s definitely a better route directly to the hiring authority. We have had much success in pursuing "Marketing the Candidate". Ten years ago we didn’t market the candidate. Today recruiting has evolved to become more and more of a relational business. If you are the president of ABC Company and you have an opportunity to view ten thousand resumes via monster or view one very qualified candidate through a specialized search firm, where are you going to go?
